It finally happened. She of all people left Domino, and not entirely without her share of baggage. Although, she left a fair bit here as well. *scowls* But such is the part of life I am unable to control. At least there won't be anymore distractions on her part in my daily routine. As much as I am glad to be rid of her. there's no forgetting the time we spent together all those years ago. ((Okay, like...two, but still!)) It was a learning experience to say the least. Now there won't be anymore foolish wagers and bribing to get what I want; merely back to the soul-crushing power that stands with my and KaibaCorp. Hmph! But there is good news

Hmph. Again the silence plagues Domino. Not a week after I released Ishizu back to her pathetic family, did the people of this town disappear into the woodwork once more. Am I the only one who has the desire to live? Even Pegasus and Dice Boy claim they have plans, but have yet to implement them. The stagnant air sickens me, but perhaps that's because I'm far superior to the average scum who wastes their life day in and day out doing the same routine, never breaking out, never living. If this stifling stillness continues, I would consider taking a trip to somewhere more energetic. *scowls* If it weren't for my office and Mokuba being here,

Things had been pretty quiet in Domino lately. All of Yuugi's friends were busy with their lives, and Yuugi... well, if he was honest he'd been feeling as though he'd sort of been left behind by everyone. But there was still one familiar person in town. Yuugi just wasn't sure that one person would want to see him.

Still, his reflective walk had brought him here, straight to KaibaCorp's main building. Thinking back... this is where his entire Duel Monsters career had started. It was... nostalgic, even if he did feel a bit awkward being here. But he steeled himself, walked through the doors, and approached the receptionist.

"Hi, um..." he scratched at his cheek sheepishly, his voice soft, "Would it... be at all possible to speak to Seto Kaiba?" as the words came out of his mouth, he realized how ridiculous they sounded. She had no reason to know who he was. Just because he'd held the title of King of Games didn't entitle him to be able to talk to a very busy billionaire who just happened to have gone to school with him and be his dueling archrival.
The receptionist quirked an eyebrow and punched a button on the intercom. "Sorry to bother you, sir, but there's a little boy here asking about you. Should I send him away?" She twiddled the pen on the desk listening to the reply. "Okay then, I'll have him wait."

"You," she said pointedly, "have a seat. The CEO will be down shortly."
Yuugi made a face when she called him a little boy, but he didn't want to argue with her. He took a seat in the lobby and looked down at his shoes. Would Kaiba be angry at him for coming and interrupting his work? Or...

He probably doesn't want anything to do with me because I'm not... him. Yuugi thought to himself, a little sadly. As much as he missed the Pharaoh, it kind of hurt that nobody was interested in him for him, that the one everyone really liked and respected was a spirit who had gone back to his own time.
Seto emerged from the elevator, his eyes scanning the floor for his mysterious visitor. He had an inkling of who it might be, but all the same he was curious as to who was brazen enough to bother him at work.

When his eyes finally settled on the seating area, he was surprised to see his old classmate sitting there. "Yuugi!" he called, "Why are you here?"

The corporate interior is familiar; she's been here before -- she worked here before -- but it has been years since she's set foot in this city, let alone this building.  She's probably unwelcome, but that never stopped Mai before, especially not when it came to him.  Despite the time she spent favoring America, Domino feels like home, which is saying much because Mai never really had a distinct idea of what "home" is supposed to feel like.  Home definitely is not in those dark blues that she catches the attention of, the one's she's there to see, but she'll be damned if she isn't strangely comforted by the familiarity of them -- of him.

"And here I had money that you'd been manufactured in a warehouse somewhere." The words leave her easily as if she had not left years ago without any real explanation; her smile is smug and timeless.  "Happy birthday."

[ ; this is why i shouldn't be allowed to rewatch ygo -- i blame netflix for ruining my life, and the fact that i haven't really written much in a while so i produced this crap.  also, it's ironic that his birthday is the day after i started rewatching.  this is also more tasteful than birthday nudes ]
The CEO was slightly startled but also intrigued at the sound of a woman's voice. He knew there was only one who would ever come near him, hell, only one woman he would let near him.

"I'm surprised you're here of all places." He returned her smile with a smirk, "I thought you had left permanently for one reason or another. Certainly you didn't come halfway around the world just for me."

He relaxed his guard, knowing who he was dealing with and sat down at his desk, gesturing to the chair across from it. "It's been a long time."

((Don't mind me, replying a year later. And I'm a little rusty. Forgive me OTL...))
